At The Ecclian, our cellar is our pride. Listed in the official CAMRA Good Beer Guide, we rotate independent guest casks weekly alongside rare Belgian bottle imports and an extraordinary back-bar spirits vault.
🍺 Rotating Real Ale Casks
We feature four rotating cask lines dedicated to the finest British independent and microbrewery ales, poured by handpull or gravity dispense at authentic cellar temperature.
Thornbridge — Jaipur (5.9%)
The iconic IPA packed with American hops, bursting with tropical fruit, mango, and a sharp bitter finish.
Timothy Taylor — Landlord (4.3%)
The classic pale ale with a complex citrus hop aroma, Golden Promise malt body, and refreshing dry finish.
Salopian — Oracle (3.8%)
Crisp, dry-hopped golden ale from Shropshire. A floral, herbal nose with a vibrant citrus burst.
Oakham — Citra (4.2%)
Light gold session beer with huge grapefruit and lychee aromas, ending on a remarkably clean, crisp palate.

Continuing the proud heritage of the building’s previous Merckx Bar era, we stock a connoisseur’s selection of Belgian Trappist ales, traditional fruit lambics, and European wheat beers served in authentic glassware.
- Trappist Ales: Chimay Blue (9.0%), Orval (6.2%), Westmalle Tripel (9.5%), Rochefort 10 (11.3%)
- Belgian Classics: Pauwel Kwak (8.4%) served in traditional wooden shoe glass, Duvel (8.5%), La Chouffe (8.0%)
- Fruit & Sour Lambics: Lindemans Kriek, Boon Geuze, St. Bernardus Wit

Our back bar is one of the most comprehensive spirits collections in Staffordshire. We curate small-batch artisanal gins served with premium tonics and fresh botanical garnishes, alongside single malts from Islay, Speyside, the Highlands, Ireland, and Kentucky.
